This random animal generator picks one animal at a time from a list of over 220, sorted into seven categories: mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, sea creatures, and insects. Narrow it down to a single category when you want animals from just one group, such as birds for a quiz on flight or sea creatures for an ocean unit, or leave the filter open and draw from everything. It will not repeat the same animal twice in a row, and you can generate a full batch of up to 50 animals at once if you need a list instead of a single pick.
How to Use the Random Animal Generator
- Pick a category if you want animals from one group only, or leave it on "All categories"
- Press Generate (or hit Space or Enter) to get one animal in large text
- Press Generate again for another animal, it will not repeat the one you just saw
