Tool Introduction

The Random Number Wheel turns any number range into a spinnable wheel: set a minimum and maximum, from a small 1 to 10 range up to a full 1 to 500 spread, and spin to get a single random number. It defaults to 1 to 10, includes one-click presets for common ranges, and handles large ranges gracefully by sampling numbers evenly across the whole span rather than trying to cram hundreds of tiny slices onto one wheel.

How to Use the Random Number Wheel

  • Set a minimum and maximum, or use a quick preset like 1-10, 1-20, 1-50, or 1-100
  • Check the slice count and read the note about large ranges if it appears
  • Optionally turn on "Remove drawn numbers" to avoid repeats across spins
  • Click the wheel or press SPIN (Space/Enter also works) to draw a number
  • See your number displayed prominently, and review past draws in the history
  • Adjust the range at any time and spin again for a fresh set of numbers

Use Cases: Number Draws and Games

  • Draw a lottery-style or raffle-style number from a set range
  • Pick a random level, question number, or round in a game or quiz
  • Generate a quick random number for dice-free tabletop games or challenges
  • Choose a random page, item, or index number for sampling or spot checks
  • Assign random numbers to participants for ordering or grouping activities

More Wheels

Need something other than a number? The Spin the Wheel tool works with any list of typed options, the Name Wheel picks a random name, and the Yes or No Wheel answers quick decisions. If you want to shuffle or group things instead of picking numbers, check out the List Randomizer and the Random Group Generator.

FAQs

Is the Random Number Wheel free to use?

Yes, it is free, works entirely in your browser, and does not need an account or sign-up.

What range of numbers can I use?

Set any minimum and a maximum up to 500. Quick preset buttons are available for 1-10, 1-20, 1-50, and 1-100, or you can enter your own range.

What happens if my range has more than 100 numbers?

To keep the wheel readable, it displays at most 100 numbers, sampled evenly across your full range, so every part of the range stays equally likely to be chosen, not just the low or high end.

Why are only some numbers labeled on the wheel?

When there are more than 60 slices, showing a label on every single one would overlap and become unreadable, so the wheel labels every few slices while keeping every slice equally sized and equally likely.

Can I avoid drawing the same number twice?

Turn on "Remove drawn numbers" and each number that wins is taken off the wheel, so repeated spins keep giving you new numbers until the range runs out.

Is the number selection actually random?

Yes, the wheel spins with a random duration and rotation on every spin, and the result comes from where it physically stops, never chosen in advance.
