Tool Introduction
This tool draws a line through your text using Unicode combining characters, not text formatting. Every character you type gets a strike mark glued onto it, in one of four styles: a long stroke, a short stroke, a wavy tilde, or a forward slash. Because the result is plain text, it pastes and copies anywhere regular text is accepted, including places that do not support bold, italic, or actual strikethrough formatting.

What is the difference between the four strike styles?
Short strike and long strike draw a horizontal line through each character, at two different lengths. Tilde strike uses a wavy line instead of a straight one. Slash strike draws a forward slash through each character rather than a horizontal line.
Why does this work in places that do not support bold or italic text?
The strike mark is not text formatting, it is a combining character glued onto each letter, so the result is one plain-text string. Any app that can display regular text can display this, since there is no formatting for it to strip.
Will strikethrough text work on Instagram, Discord, and Twitter/X?
Generally yes, since it is plain Unicode text rather than a formatting tag. Paste it into a bio, message, or post like normal text. A few apps or fonts may render the combining marks slightly differently, especially on long words.
Why does the line sometimes look uneven on long words?
Each stroke is drawn per character and the exact spacing depends on the font rendering it, so on longer words or in certain fonts the line can look slightly broken between letters instead of perfectly continuous. That is a rendering quirk of the font, not something this tool can fully control.
Can I remove the strikethrough after pasting it somewhere?
Not by unformatting it, since it is not formatting. You would need to retype the plain text, or copy the plain version from the input box on this page before it gets the strike marks added.
