Upside Down Text Generator
Tool is 100% private: operates entirely in your browser. No data ever leaves your device. Your data is safe and private!
Input: 19 characters (19 bytes). Unicode characters can take up more than one byte each, and some platforms count "characters" by byte or by UTF-16 code unit instead, so the number you see elsewhere may not match exactly.
Flipped
Each letter swapped for a rotated lookalike, reading order unchanged.
ʇʎdǝ ʎonɹ ʇǝxʇ ɥǝɹǝ
Output: 19 characters (31 bytes)
Flipped & Reversed
Flipped letters with the order reversed too, so it reads correctly upside down.
ǝɹǝɥ ʇxǝʇ ɹnoʎ ǝdʎʇ
Output: 19 characters (31 bytes)
Tool Introduction
This tool turns your text upside down using Unicode lookalike characters, not an actual rotation. Each letter is swapped for a different character that looks like it was flipped 180 degrees, and the order of the characters is reversed too, so the result reads correctly once you turn it (or your head) upside down.

FAQs
Is this upside down text generator free to use?
Yes, it is free and works entirely in your browser. Flip as much text as you want and copy the result as many times as you need.
Is the text actually rotated 180 degrees?
No. Nothing on the page is physically rotated. Each letter is swapped for a different Unicode character that happens to look like the original letter turned upside down, for example e becomes ǝ and f becomes ɟ. The letter order is also reversed so the whole word reads correctly once you look at it upside down.
What is the difference between "Flipped" and "Flipped & Reversed"?
Flipped swaps each letter for its upside-down lookalike but keeps the original reading order. Flipped & Reversed does the same letter swap and also reverses the order of the characters, which is what actually reads correctly if you turn the whole line upside down or mentally flip it, since word order needs to run backwards for that to work.
Why do some letters stay the same when flipped?
A handful of letters look close enough to their own upside-down version that Unicode does not need a separate character for them, l, o, s, x, and z, for example. Punctuation and letters with no real upside-down lookalike are left unchanged rather than replaced with something wrong.
Will upside down text work on Instagram, Discord, and other apps?
Usually yes, since it is plain Unicode text and not an image. Paste it into a bio, message, or post like any other text. A few very old systems or fonts may be missing a glyph for one of the less common characters.
Can I flip a whole sentence, not just single words?
Yes, the tool flips and reverses everything in the input box, including spaces and punctuation, not just individual words.
