Free online image blur and pixelate tool
This free image blur and pixelate tool runs entirely in your browser. Upload one or multiple photos, choose from several blur types (Gaussian, motion, box, radial, soften) or pixelate styles (block, mosaic, pixel), adjust strength with a live preview, and download as PNG or JPEG. No signup, no uploads to servers—your images never leave your device. Perfect for censoring sensitive content, protecting privacy, or creating artistic effects.
How to use
- Upload one or more images (drag and drop or click the dropzone). Use "Try demo photo" to load a sample image.
- Choose effect: Blur or Pixelate.
- Select the type (e.g. Gaussian, Motion, Box, Radial, Soften for blur; Block, Mosaic, Pixel for pixelate).
- Adjust the strength slider; the preview updates in real time for every image.
- Download a single image or use "Download all". Pick PNG or JPEG for the output. Use "Clear all" to remove images and start over.
When to use blur or pixelate
Use this tool when you need to obscure parts of an image: blur or pixelate faces for privacy, censor text or sensitive details, anonymize screenshots, or create stylized thumbnails. Blur is ideal for a softer look (e.g. Gaussian or soften); pixelate gives a blocky, censored effect. You can process multiple images at once with the same settings, so it's handy for batches of photos or screenshots.
Blur and pixelate types
Blur types: Gaussian gives a smooth, natural blur; Motion simulates directional movement; Box uses a square kernel for a uniform blur; Radial blurs from the center outward (good for focus effects); Soften is a light blur for subtle smoothing. Pixelate types: Block is the classic square pixelation; Mosaic uses larger blocks for a stronger effect; Pixel uses smaller blocks for a finer grain. Strength controls intensity (blur radius or block size).
Features
- Multiple blur types: Gaussian, motion, box, radial, soften
- Multiple pixelate types: block, mosaic, pixel
- Batch upload and download; clear all to start over
- Live preview while adjusting strength
- Download as PNG or JPEG; demo photo to try without uploading
- Runs entirely in your browser; no uploads to servers, no signup
Tips
- Start with strength around 50 and adjust; lower values give subtle effects, higher values are stronger.
- For privacy or censoring, pixelate (block or mosaic) often reads more clearly as "hidden" than blur.
- Radial blur works well for portraits when you want to keep the center sharp.
- Use "Download all" to export every image with the current settings in one go.
