Folge takes a screenshot on every click, so you do the job once and end up with the steps.
Open the guide you want to record into, then click Capture screenshots on an empty guide, or Capture new steps at the bottom of the steps list if the guide already has some.
Folge shrinks itself into a small window that stays on top of everything else. That window is the only Folge you see until you finish.
Four things to know before you press Start.
Click Start, then work through the process the way you normally would. Every click takes a screenshot and adds a step.
The capture window keeps a running count and shows the last step it took, so you can tell at a glance that it is still following you.
Click Pause and Folge stops capturing without ending the session. Deal with the email, look something up, then click Resume and carry on into the same guide.
You can also delete the step you just took, or fix its title and description, from the capture window itself. Both are quicker here than hunting for it in the editor afterwards.
This part is Mac only. Windows has nothing to grant.
macOS asks for screen recording and accessibility permission the first time you capture, and it will not apply them until Folge restarts. Grant both, quit Folge, open it again, and start the capture. It only happens once.
Folge captures a screenshot on every click, so a guide writes itself as you work.
