Native integration · Cloud & Data Center

The desktop documentation tool that captures your workflow offline on your Mac or Windows desktop and publishes finished guides straight to Confluence Cloud or self-hosted Data Center. Your screenshots travel from your machine to your Confluence instance with no third-party cloud in between.
Most screenshot tools only know Confluence Cloud. Folge speaks both Confluence Cloud and Confluence Data Center, including on-prem instances behind a corporate firewall. Folge auto-detects your install type so you don't have to think about it.
Folge runs as a desktop application. Your screenshots are captured and edited entirely on your computer, then sent directly from your machine to your Confluence instance. Ideal for healthcare, finance, government, and any team running self-hosted Confluence for compliance reasons.
Folge publishes a real Confluence page — not an embedded iframe or widget. Callouts become real Confluence callouts, screenshots become real Confluence images, and your guide is fully editable inside Confluence afterward, just like a page you wrote there by hand.
Set up takes about 2 minutes. After that, every guide is one click away from your Confluence space.
In Folge's settings, paste your Confluence URL, your email, and an API token (Cloud) or personal access token (Data Center). Folge auto-detects your instance type. Credentials are stored locally on your computer.
Click "Start Capture" and run through the process — onboarding a new user, configuring a feature, walking through a release checklist. Folge takes a screenshot on every click. This step is fully offline; perfect for restricted environments.
Add titles, callouts, arrows, and step descriptions. Use blur to redact sensitive information before anything is published. Everything happens in the desktop app; your data stays on your machine.
Browse your spaces and pages, pick the destination (or update an existing page), then click Publish. Folge sends the guide straight from your computer to your Confluence instance — uploads images as attachments, builds the page in Confluence Storage Format, and links everything together.
Most documentation tools auto-upload your screenshots to their cloud the moment you click. Folge is different. Guides are captured and edited entirely on your computer — only the final published version travels to your Confluence instance, sent directly from your machine. No third-party cloud middleman, no vendor lock-in for your raw captures, and no compliance grey area.
Capture and edit guides on a laptop with no internet at all. Publish to Confluence later, only when you're ready.
Your screenshots and guide data never leave your computer until you choose to publish. Folge servers never see them.
Confluence Data Center on a private network or behind a VPN? Folge runs locally on your laptop, so it can reach internal Confluence instances that cloud-only screenshot tools cannot. Air-gapped capture, then publish when you connect.

Yes. Because Folge is a desktop application, it can publish to internal Confluence Data Center instances on private networks, intranets, and VPN-only environments where SaaS tools simply cannot reach. Authentication uses a personal access token; auto-detection figures out you're on Data Center, not Cloud.
No. Folge captures, processes, and stores screenshots entirely on your computer. When you publish, your guide travels from your machine directly to your Confluence instance via the Confluence REST API. Folge never sees your screenshots — there is no third-party cloud middleman. A real Confluence page. Callouts become real Confluence callouts, screenshots become real Confluence images, and the page is fully editable inside Confluence afterward — exactly like a page someone wrote there by hand. No iframes, no widget, no external dependency that can break later.
Yes. Folge remembers which Confluence page each guide was last published to. The next time you export, you can update that page in place — content is replaced and old screenshots are cleaned up automatically — or create a new page somewhere else.
Yes. Folge's capture and editing steps work entirely offline, including in air-gapped environments. You can record a workflow on a restricted system, edit and redact it on the same machine, then publish to Confluence later from a connected network. Useful for healthcare, finance, government, and any regulated environment.
For Confluence Cloud: your email plus an Atlassian API token. For Confluence Data Center: a personal access token. Both are stored locally on your computer and used only to talk to your Confluence instance. Folge never asks for your password.
Yes. Folge also exports to 9 file formats — including a Confluence-optimized HTML you can paste into any page — all generated locally on your computer.

Folge is a desktop application. Download and use it for free forever or upgrade for lifetime features and support.
