Steps Recorder, also called Problem Steps Recorder or PSR, is the Windows program that saved a screenshot and a line of text for every click. Microsoft deprecated it in 2024. Since the February 2024 update of Windows 11 it opens with a notice, and Microsoft says it will be removed in a future release.
Microsoft points to Snipping Tool, Xbox Game Bar and Clipchamp instead. All three record video or single screenshots, and none of them builds a numbered guide from your clicks.
